There’s no better way to wake up in the morning than with a great shower routine. Stepping into a steaming hot shower can help wake you, while also resetting your body and mind no matter what kind of day or night you just had. The shower gives you a chance to step out of the rest of the world for 15 minutes or so and center yourself.


Most of us lead ridiculously fast-paced lifestyles – always attached to a mobile device, with little time for ourselves. A great shower routine can clear your head and wash away worry, pain, stress and toxins. Let it all wash down the drain as the water (and stress) cascades off your body with a Nordic spa-inspired shower routine.


The concept of Nordic spas may seem simple, but comes with incredible benefits: moving from steam rooms and saunas that promote circulation to ice baths, rain showers and outdoor pools that serve to close the pores, reduce inflammation and boost the immune system.

Step one: Set the ambience.

Just because you may take a shower everyday doesn’t mean it can't feel like a spa! Make your daily shower relaxing, romantic and mindful by setting the ambiance of the bathroom to match the mood you would like to create. From relaxing to invigorating you can find just about any scent combination to fit your mood. Try lighting some candles or up the ante with a shower steamer to help release toxins and revitalize your mind.



Step two : Hydrate.

Not only is drinking a glass of water a great way to start your day and activate your internal organs, but drinking water before a hot shower can help lower your blood pressure and keep you from getting light-headed in the steam and heat. It also helps recharge your system if you are taking your shower at the end of your day.


Step three: Jump start your circulation by dry brushing.

Step four: Hot and cold shower.

Get in the shower and get completely wet at a temperature that is completely comfortable for you. Resting underneath a pounding shower head that is pouring warm water all over your body is going to give you a big boost, but it’s going to work even better if you hit yourself with a blast of cold water before you slide under the hottest water you can handle. Slowly increase the temperature to the point you can barely stand it. Expose all areas of the body to this hotter water, including the top of your head and your face. Do this for a minimum of 30 seconds and up to 2 minutes for more effect. The hot water and steam open your pores and allow toxins to be released. Now turn the water down to the coldest tolerable setting, and expose all areas of the body to this colder water. Do this for a minimum of 30 seconds and up to 2 minutes for more effect. The cold water closes your pores and helps boost the immune system while toning and tightening your skin. Repeat this alternating hot and cold exposure 5 times or more, always ending with cold. This hot / cold sequence stimulates your body to produce white blood cells, leaving your body feeling invigorated with a renewed supply of energy. Read more in the included treatment card



Step five: Scrub.

Lather up with your favorite body wash, invigorate your skin by using your loofah to lather up with your favorite soap or body wash. It will provide you with a deep exfoliation while not damaging the skin


Step six: Dry off.

Step into a warm towel and pat yourself dry. Try not to rub vigorously but instead pat the water off your skin to prevent damaging and drying out the skin.

Step seven: Moisturize.

Make sure to moisturize immediately after your shower. Lavish your skin with our solid lotion, filled with butters and oils that will lock in the remaining water on your skin before you air dry. Then grab that warm towel and wrap yourself up in fluffy happiness while letting your skin absorb the lotion for at least 5 to 10 min before getting dressed. This is a great time to grab a hot tea or complete your facial routine!
