ABOUT VODA

As a mom and creative professional, I have learned first-hand the importance of

self-care. My health and wellness journey began when I developed food sensitivities in my second year of university linked to stress and anxiety. I was gaining weight even though I was dancing 5 days a week. Once I discovered that I had food sensitivities and adjusted my diet, I dropped 20 pounds immediately and felt so much better. Over the last 20 years, I have discovered that my sensitivities can change slightly depending on my stress levels and how much I prioritize my self-care.

After having my daughter, my husband and I opened a bed and breakfast and I did everything: I cooked and cleaned, I met the guests 24/7 with no breaks, and on top of that I had three kids and a husband to take care of as well. I was creating a relaxing experience for my guests, yet not taking care of myself. My relationship with myself and my husband was unhealthy and when I finally started making changes, it took me two years to get my health issues under control.

It was my experience managing an organic spa where I learned a lot about the chemicals that are in our everyday hygiene products. Minimizing our body’s exposure to toxins can help reduce our overall stress load, giving the body one less thing to filter and manage.

My goal with Voda Retreats is to show people that even the smallest acts of self-care can make a difference in your life. I want to take the guesswork out of how to care for yourself. I want to provide a way for people to pamper themselves that they can do anywhere and anytime. And I want people to know that, while they may have set backs, they should never feel guilty for taking time for themselves.

Sincerely,
Rebekah
